Travelling alone? Don’t miss these places!

When you go on holiday or visit a new place, there’s usually a group of friends, some members of the family or your partner accompanying you along the way to share all the good times. But sometimes travelling alone can be just as fun. You can do whatever you want, whenever you want, set up your own itinerary and travel at your own pace.

With that being said, let’s embark on a journey to Budapest, to find out what are the best places to visit if you’re travelling alone.

Whether you are on your own or not, Budapest’s famous landmarks are a must-see. The beautiful Hungarian Parliament building set on the Pest riverbank, the magnificent Buda Castle or the Fisherman’s Bastion on Castle Hill, from where you can admire the best views in the city, aren’t to be missed.

A good way to chill and visit at the same time is by taking a cruise on the Danube. While you are gently cruising down the river, you can also admire some of Budapest’s famous attractions and maybe sip on a delicious cocktail to really get into that relaxing atmosphere.

A more active way of sightseeing is by going on a self-guided bike tour. All you have to do is rent a bike and pedal away at your own pace. The bike-friendly routes will give you the opportunity to visit great landmarks such as the Chain Bridge, the Varkert Bazaar, the Castle Hill Funicular, Rudas Bath or Elizabeth Bridge.

If you want to enjoy a bit of time in nature, visit Margaret’s Island, set between Margaret Bridge and Arpad Bridge. Here you can take a stroll through the parks, visit the medieval ruins, the musical fountains and the charming Water Tower.

Since Budapest is known as being the “City of Spas”, it would be a shame not to visit one of the famous thermal baths. Dating back to the Ottoman period, the baths are great not only for relaxation, but they also have healing properties. Szechenyi Baths are probably the most beautiful thermal baths in Budapest and the open-air thermal pools are absolutely amazing. You can also combine relaxation with entertainment at one of the fabulous Sparties held at Szechenyi Baths, where great music, light projections and refreshing drinks from the bar create a fantastic mix.

Because one party is never enough, you must also visit a ruin pub. Budapest is quite famous for these nightlife hot spots that were created by converting old derelict buildings into hip unconventional bars. Ruin pubs are artsy and bizarre and offer a unique bar experience, as well as the opportunity to meet new people. Instant is the biggest ruin pub in the city, with a labyrinthine layout and a wonderful garden where you can listen to good music and dance the night away.

If you feel the need to share the adventure with someone else, but there’s no one in sight, Budapest escorts agencies are easy to find and a fun way to enliven the atmosphere. Travelling alone doesn’t seem so bad after all, does it?
